Introduction

This is an overview of a 2D platformer game that I’ve been working on.

Throughout the development of this game, I’ve made two large-scale single-player maps and I’ve made a few smaller-scale multiplayer arenas implementing the networking using Mirror. Right now I’ve decided that I’m going to scrap multiplayer and large-scale maps for the time being. I’m first going to flesh out the player attacks/movement system. After that, I will add a few interesting enemies using the sprites that I’ve made in the past year. Then, I will create smaller arenas and a level select system where the player can fight through the boss sequences I’ve created one by one.

You escape into your dreams. Into a world beyond your imagination.
Struggle and fight through the levels with your own hands.

Decide how to swing your sword, parry incoming projectiles, and precisely aim your magic spells.

Wield the weapons pried from the hands of your enemies. And defeat foe after foe until your reach the end of your journey.

I’m creating a 2D action game where you control your character to fight various enemies using the weapons that you take from them. The combat is visceral, unique, and fun.  It’s inspired by the make belief games that I would play as a child.

I want to make additional cool and dramatic bosses to fight and an interesting world to go along with them. I’ve got a lot of ideas for interactive weapon mechanics involving swords, spears, bows, chain weapons,  magic weapons, and magic spells that I would like the time and opportunity to explore.

I’m a university student right now and I work at regular intervals between my school work.

  • Boss 1 animations and implementation using knight + imperial longsword sprite
  • Boss 2 using knight + cutlass sprite
